But today is celebrated in almost all Western countries with more or fewer. Its origins date back to the Celts, [1] and the party was exported to the United States by Irish immigrants especially in the nineteenth century, more or less towards 1846. The history of Halloween goes back over 2500 years, when Celtic finished the year at the end of the summer, precisely on October 31 in our calendar. The cattle were brought from the pastures to the stables for the winter. That last day, it was assumed that the spirits could leave the cemetery and take over the bodies of the living to resurrect. To avoid this, the villages dirty Celtic houses and "decorated" with bones, skulls and other unpleasant things, so that the dead are guided by these to reach a better place. Hence comes the tradition of decorating homes with sinister motives in today's Halloween costumes as well. The journey in search of candy children are likely to link with the Dutch tradition of the Feast of St. Martin

Halloween...!!

Halloween is on 31st October, it has Celtic origins.
Halloween means the day before All Saints.
In Halloween the people do traditionally dress up in costumes and make a noise, and play truck or treat. The costumes normally are witches, monsters, skeletons...
People think in Halloween yhe souls of the dead come back to Earth.
The people buy a pumpkin and drow a face.
In Hallowen we often go to a disco and the end go to a friend's houseand look horror films, for example: Scream. In the night we can't sleep. ^.^

Miriam's halloween
Hello!!I think that Halloween is a celebrity very important in America,
but in Spain it isn't important.
In Spain, the people aren't celebrate this date.
This Halloween, my friends and me went to the pub
and we were dancing and drinking.
But it was very bored and we went to sleep very early.
In America this celebrity is very different.
The children, disguised, go to the house and they ask for candy.

BUH!
Hi! :D
I don’t celebrate Halloween nor any other party on that day.
My family do “panallets” and we eat.
For my Halloween is a party that is not celebrate in Spain seriously. I meet people that celebrates but a different way, they works at disco disguised as monsters and do a Halloween’s show.
A year when I was a child, my father buy a pumpkin and got a green light in. Then turned off all the lights and trying to scare me. He wasn’t get but are funny. It's the only time that I held it a bit.
I like monsters, but not halloween.

Joan, halloween

Hello friends !
I knew you would come here,so I´ve been practising my greeting. (laughs)
OK, enought of bad jokes I´m here to talk a bit of Halloween.
I´m sincere to say that I haven´t celebrated this Celtic party and the "All Saints Day" too.
Personally, I think that almost everyone celebrates more the "All Saints Day" than the "Comercial Halloween"; because it´s a tradition and is clearly more followed than a foreigner´s party.
But it doesn´t mean that Halloween sucks as a party !
If the next year someone invites me to a "Halloween style" party I would come !

Halloween's party

Hi friends!
Althought that it's 2 of November and it has already a bit late, I want to explain us my opinion of Halloween's party. I've never celebrated this party, and that day I don't make anything special. Halloween is original of Britain and Ireland, and althought that a lot of people of the world celebrate it, the typical party of Catalonia, for example, is "La Castanyera". I prefer to eat hot chestnuts and sweet "panellets". Mmm.. they are so delicious!
But, I'm not in opposition to those persons that celebrate this day as authentic english people, because we all are free of doing what we want.

This halloween is going to be something strange for me, has always been a fun night, we met all the family to sing, eating chestnuts and moniatos, and be well, but this year will be something totally different by family matters.
Equally hope pasarlo bien and try to make this night is equal to that special every year.

Halloween
I don't like the parties very much but tomorrow it's Halloween. I think that it is the best party of each year. Many people will wear horror costumes, other people will eat sweet potatoes (moniatos) and chestnuts, etc. I probably prefer the ancient San Haim, the celtic celebration, but it's too strange. Of what I amb sure is that tomorrow I'm going to have a fun night listenint to Misfits and watching horror films. It's always so nice and entertained...

Hello! =)
Halloween it's a good party! The children dress up of monster or zombie.
I like halloween, I celebrate it with my family and with my friends.
First I have dinner with my family in my house and after that I go out with my friends.
This year we will go to the cinema, but we don't know what film we are going to see.
After we will walk along the Calle del Mar and we will drink a coke in a bar.
After of everything that we will return at home.
Halloween is an excuse to go out with friends.

Halloween

October 31st is Halloween. Where does Halloween come from? The Celts lived in Britain, Ireland and parts of France over 2,000 years ago, and October 31st was the end of their year. The Celts believed that ghosts came back to earth on this day. Today many people around the world celebrate this old festival - but today people usually have parties, dress up, and tell spooky stories about witches, skeletons, bats and ghosts. Have some Halloween fun!
