Howard Philips Lovecraft

Howard Phillips Lovecraft (* Providence, Rhode Island, August 20, 1890 - † ibídem, March 15, 1937) was an American writer, author of novels and short stories of horror and science fiction and promoter of a new kind of literature of gothic horror.

He is considered a great innovative tale of terror, which made itself a myth (the myth of Cthulhu), developed in collaboration with others and still in force.

H. P. Lovecraft was born on August 20, 1890 at 9 am at the family home located in No. 194 (now 454) from Angell Street in Providence, the capital of Rhode Island.

The young Lovecraft, frequenting places like strange and remote to be able to unleash their boundless imagination. These sites (caves, trees removed, etc..) Recreated historical or absorbed in the observation of small details which, for other people, went unnoticed, but that Lovecraft was fascinated, like stopping to listen to the fairies forest, or imagine what could exist in outer space.

Perhaps one of the reasons that escape was much liked by the strict attachment to the subject that his mother, saying he should not play with children of lower class, or insisting that it was ugly and would never succeed.

Lovecraft was a child prodigy: recited poetry to two years, read at three and began to write six or seven years old. One of the genres you are most passionate about his childhood were the stories, leading even to form the "Detective Agency of Providence" at the age of 13 years. Within fifteen formed his first book, The Beast in the cave, imitation of Gothic horror tales. At 16 he wrote an astronomy column for the Providence Tribune.

His maternal grandfather encouraged him to read, and this is one of his favorite hobbies, not long in discovering the vast library of his grandfather. In his later years, the nature of illness and malnutrition were undermining his health.

Their abnormal sensitivity to any temperature below 20 degrees escalated to the point that she felt really sick at such temperatures. He was buried three days later in the vault of his grandfather Phillips in Swan Point Cemetery.

Many years after his death on the tombstone erected to a group of enthusiasts can read a sentence above the call of Cthulhu:

"That is not dead which can eternal lie,

And with strange aeons even death may die. "

To me, Lovecraft is one of my personal gods, whom I admire and love deeply.

Since the discovery 14 years his prose and his magic, I was completely mesmerized by his style, I came to love his prose and deeply disturbing.

What I like about him, his extravagant imagination is the myth that created the Necronomicon, a book that says hide strange spells and curses with the power to dominate the world, I have just one copy.

Today, many of his followers are still looking for the real Necronomicon, and worshiping the gods born of his powerful imagination. Lovecraft is for me a person worthy to admire, with that aura of extravagance that fascinates me.
